Outstanding Diplomatic activities of Tien Giang
Thực hiện chủ trương đa phương hóa, đa dạng hóa các quan hệ đối ngoại, chủ động và tích cực hội nhập quốc tế, các cấp chính quyền tỉnh Tiền Giang đã thực hiện các hoạt động đối ngoại trong tháng 1 năm 2020 như sau:
Implementing the guideline of the Party and Government on multilateralizing and diversifying diplomatic relations and proactively integrating into international community, The provincial authorities had some outstanding diplomatic activities in January as follows:
On December 29th 2019, Ms. Chau Thi My Phuong, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Commission on Popularization and Education was paid a courtesy call by Ms. Wen Hong Yan - Head of the News Coordination, the People's Daily of China. The call was also attended by Mr. Phan Bang Son - Vice Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Office. The two sides informed each other of their socio-economic development in 2019 as well as their potential and strength.

On January 5th 2020, Mr. Le Van Huong, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee together with leaders of the provincial Military Commander had a meeting with the delegation of the Development Department of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces led by Major General Li To La Ning, Deputy Head of the Department. They came to offer Lunar New Year greetings to the provincial leaders.
From December 24th to 28th 2019, a delegation of students and teachers from Shiba Gakuen High School (Japan) visited Cai Be Upper-secondary School and My Hoi Lower-secondary School in Cai Be district for cultural exchange.
From December 21st to 30th 2019, Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Tien Giang province guided Pousse Pousse: Aidons les Enfants du Viet Nam (France) to Tan Thoi commune, Tan Phu Dong district to carry out some activities. The organization provided a funding of approximately 2.7 billion dongs for a variety of activities such as medical examination, great unity house construction, goat raising project, scholarship program, lighting project for residential areas, water pipe system...

From January 13th to 17th 2020, implementing the provincial plan for foreign affairs and on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2020, Mr. Luu Van Phi, Director of the provincial Department of Foreign Affairs led a delegation to Consulates General of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Japan, Indonesia, India, the USA, Singapore, China, Laos, Cambodia, Korea, etc. and foreign organizations in Ho Chi Minh city to offer new year greetings. The delegation also informed those agencies of the provincial socio-economic achievements in 2019, current cooperation between Tien Giang and their respective countries, and the provincial potentials, strengths and projects calling for investment.

From January 8th to 10th 2020, the provincial Union of Friendship Organizations guided the Australian Water Safety on the Mekong Project Inc. - AWSOM (Australia) to carry out their activities of teaching swimming to students of Thoi Son Primary School, Nhan Ai School for Students with Disabilities and Le Quy Don Primary School at My Tho swimming pool. At the same time, AWSOM also popularized drowning prevention at Thien Ho Duong Primary School and Le Quy Don School.

From January 14th - 15th 2020, the Southern Center for Plant Protection had a meeting with Korean Rural Development Administration (RDA). During their visit to the province, RDA came to a model of ecological technology in Go Cong Tay district and a dragon fruit production area in Cho Gao district
On January 13th 2020, the provincial Association for Learning Promotion had a meeting with the Pacific Links Foundation. The two sides discussed problems they were facing and consented to policy solutions to well implement their scholarship program in the upcoming school years.
On January 04th 2020, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development had a meeting with a World Bank delegation to discuss how to prepare for the second Viet Nam Agri-food Safety project.

On January 17th 2020, Ms. Maricelle (Bells) Regino-Borja, Country Director of Habitat For Humanity Viet Nam visited and offered new year greetings to its partner organizations in the province such as the Department of Foreign Affairs, Women's Union and Union of Friendship Organizations

From January 16th - 17th 2020, in order to enhance the liaison with families of overseas Vietnamese to create a connection between them and local authorities, and encourage their investment in constructing and developing their homeland, Mr. Nguyen Van Cong, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs led a delegation to offer new year greetings to Overseas Vietnamese Liaison Associations, and outstanding families of overseas Vietnamese and learn about the overseas Vietnamese-related work in My Tho city, Cho Gao district, Go Cong Dong district and Go Cong Tay district.

On December 25th 2019, the provincial Department of Education and Training held a summarizing session for the Eye Care for Schools project in 2016-2019 period in the 3 districts of Chau Thanh, Cai Lay and Cho Gao, funded by Standard Chartered and the Fred Hollows Foundation (Australia). The project includes training lecturers in eye care for children and consultation skill and approximately 500 medical staff, providing more than 10,000 glasses for children having refractive errors, supporting the treatment of and recovery from eye diseases for poor students, etc.
On January 20th 2020, to enhance business support activities, Mr. Luu Van Phi, Director of the provincial Department of Foreign Affairs visited Renaissance Fashion Clothing Co., ltd in Long Jiang Industrial Park to discuss how to support its operation. It is the first Indian investment project in Tien Giang with the investments of over US$ 10 million, which is expected to hire approximately 1,200 garment workers./.
